American Pop

An animated “trip” through the history of American music.

- This movie is all about the music and the animation, but there are a few voices you may recognize including Richard Moll (Bull from Night Court) and Lee Ving (Mr. Boddy from the movie Clue)

- One of the techniques director Ralph Bakshi used was rotoscoping, where they animate over actual images. Film buffs may notice that some of the gangland scenes are rotoscoped over footage from the 1931 classic The Public Enemy.

- Originally Bakshi wanted the movie to end with Lynyrd Skynyrd's song “Free Bird.”
