A starkly chilling (and ultimately bitterly ironic) on-screen adaptation of Truman Capote’s landmark true-novel of murder and its consequences.
-This was the first American film to include the expletive "bullshit" in its dialog. Bullshit is such a great word.
-For authenticity, director Richard Brooks filmed in all the actual locations including the Clutter house (where the murders took place) and the actual courtroom (6 of the actual jurors were used). Creepy.
-The two pairs of eyes pictured on the movie poster are those of the real killers, not the actors portraying them. Again, creepy!
In Cold Blood dramatizes actual events and people in a realistic, technically well-crafted fashion, based upon Truman Capote's novel. The movie is a faithful docudrama about the real-life mass murder of the Clutter family, which took place in Holcomb, Kansas on November 15, 1959 by two psychopathic killers.
