Men in Black redefined the sci-fi comedy.

- It's hard to imagine a hard edged actor like Tommy Lee Jones would be able to play so well against a young comedian like Smith. Without Jones' stone faced delivery and Smith's outrage, blowing off Tony Shaloub's head wouldn't be quite so funny.

- Not only is this one of the movies that helped catapult Will Smith to super stardom, he also happens to be wicked cool as the clueless rookie who winds up helping save the day.

- The "men in blck" had long been a subject of conspiracy theorists, but this movie brought the idea to the mainstream. Not only has it now spawned two sequels (MIB III is set to be released in 2011) and a cartoon show but dozens upon dozens of spoofs.
