-To study for his role as a deaf man, Gene Wilder went to the NY League for the Hard of Hearing to study for his role His teacher was his future wife, Karen Boyer.

-Gene Wilder agreed to do See No Evil, Hear No Evil only if he was allowed to re-write the script. Tri-Star agreed and the rest is history.

-The film was #1 for two weeks at the box office despite some negative reviews. The film has since become a cult classic.

Synopsis:

Gene Wilder plays Dave, the deaf owner of a newsstand, who hires Wally (Pryor), a blind gambler, to work for him. Wally's bookie comes to the newsstand and is shot by a mysterious woman, Eve (Joan Severance), but, before dying, he drops a priceless coin into Dave's cigar box till. A series of coincidences and plot twists comes to a head at the mansion of tyrannical crime lord Sutherland (Anthony Zerbe).
