Secretly watch people realize how racist they are.

- Beware your Buddies: All the subjects were brought into these hidden shoots by their friends, and perhaps more amazing every one of them signed forms allowing for their true colors to “shine” in this show.

- It’s not as easy as it looks: Filmed on location in Las Vegas at the Neonopolis shopping mall, there are 8-12 cameras involved in every shoot (both manned and robotic), the background is filled with extras, and in the episode titled “White’s Only Jeans” they had to employ an actual clothing designer to stitch in the monogram (No word on if they “shrunk the trunk.”)

- If you watch closely it may appear that some of the subjects are looking directly into the camera, in reality a number of cameras were hidden behind mirrors, and that’s just them being vain and checking themselves out.

Synopsis:

Forget the lyrics to that Cyndi Lauper song sometimes people’s true colors do not shine. If Ashton Kutcher and Chris Rock had a twisted love child, and that love child had their own show, it would be “True Colors.” It catches the racism that’s just below the surface of American life, on covert spy cameras. This show is proof that some people are assholes when they think no one’s watching, and some are better than you imagined. One thing you’re sure to learn is to be extra careful the next time you go to the mall. Just saying.
